📸 What You'll Do
- Perform phlebotomy procedures, registration, test orders, specimen tracking, and processing.
- Oversee scheduling, assigning, and training of phlebotomists.
- Manage Advanced Beneficiary Notice (ABN/ASN) and related documentation.
- Maintain and monitor standing orders for expiration and renewals.
- Provide patients with test forms and instructions for specimen collection.
- Monitor and review timekeeping records and payroll accuracy.
- Conduct random audits and attend meetings related to Document Imaging and RQI.
- Assist with phlebotomy of patients and perform duties of a phlebotomist.
- Participate in interviewing and selection of phlebotomists and provide input into performance evaluations.
- Train new phlebotomists and maintain training manuals.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Phlebotomy certificate through National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences or completion of a Phlebotomy certificate program with 100 successful venipunctures.
- Minimum 5 years of phlebotomy experience required.
- Ability to perform venipuncture techniques and capillary puncture on adults, children, and infants.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and alleviate fears.
- Clerical skills to prepare and maintain records and reports.
- Familiarity with blood collector equipment and special precautions.
