📸 What You'll Do

  • Prepare and calibrate the MRI unit for daily operation.
  • Select proper technical factors on an individual patient basis.
  • Screen all patients and visitors prior to entry into the magnetic imaging area.
  • Operate and navigate all pertinent IS software related to job functions.
  • Record and maintain patient history from various sources.
  • Position patients for imaging to obtain satisfactory examinations.
  • Utilize a wide variety of technical equipment to produce MRI images.
  • Perform complex imaging of cross-sectional, sagittal, coronal, and obliquely generated MRI images.
  • Assist the radiologist in developing new procedures and protocols.
  • Participate in in-service educational programs and clinical instruction of MRI students.

Qualifications

  • Thorough knowledge of specialized MRI technology.
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiological Technology.
  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, advanced MRI applications, and computer operations.
  • MRI certification through the ARRT (new grads may obtain within 90 days of hire).
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to interface effectively with patients and staff.
  • Experience in Ultrasound, CT, Nuclear Medicine, and MRI preferred.
  • Ability to lift and position patients and lift supplies up to 50 pounds.
